Australia’s dairy industry has a major new website: www.legendairy.com.au, launched by Dairy Australia.
Brimming with all things dairy-related, the new site is an online treasure chest of information from the latest dairy industry facts and figures; nutritional science; and, information on how dairy products are made to Australia’s largest collection of dairy recipes from the Dairy Kitchen.
The new site, which embodies the Legendairy spirit, also showcases life on the farm, providing consumers with insights into the resilience, pride and professionalism of Australia’s dairy farmers. Factual data is supported with a collection of striking photographs from farms across Australia and a growing series of videos featuring farmers sharing their stories of life on the land.
“It’s an opportunity for city-dwellers to get a glimpse of farm life and, at the same time, the videos focus on a range of topical information such as sustainability and business planning, that will be of interest to other farmers,” explained Isabel MacNeill, Dairy Australia’s Group Manager Industry Promotions and Product Innovation.
According to MacNeill, the Legendairy communications platform has been gaining significant momentum since its introduction in late 2013 and the launch of the new website will help radiate the Legendairy story even further.
“It will be a great reference for teachers, students, food lovers, health professionals and also help people working in the dairy industry provide easy answers to all those questions that we do get asked regularly,” she said.
The site also provides access to the Legendairy online shop, where anyone wanting to show their pride in the dairy industry by literally wearing it on their back or head, can purchase a Legendairy vest or beanie.
“The dairy community has embraced the Legendairy platform and there are growing numbers of farmers working hard to share the Legendairy spirit within their own communities as well as online via the Legendairy facebook page and twitter account. It’s a groundswell of support that is presenting Australian dairy in a really positive light, helping connect the industry with our consumers,” Isabel MacNeill explained.
“Dairy farmers work incredibly hard with the industry contributing a significant $13 billion to the Australian economy and it’s great to see the industry and its people starting to get the recognition they deserve.”
